The heating was turned on upstairs and we had a really great group of people into the office last night to hear what we’re up to in Weedle. We had invited people from the online community in Ireland personally and through Twitter to come and meet the team, understand the concept and give us feedback on the idea. It was a sneak-preview of the beta site that is due to launch later today.
The conversation was scheduled to last from 6.30pm until 8pm, but the last person didn’t leave until 10.30pm. We scribbled furiously as people openly shared their thoughts and ideas about how we could develop and grow Weedle beyond where it is today.
Already there is some really great feedback online.
Facundo over in Channelship was first-past-the-post with a really clear articulation of what Weedle is about and an understanding of some of the challenges we’ll face as we seek to grow. Facundo and Fred took some great photos and they also have a nice video of Weedle founder Iain MacDonald sharing the vision for the platform.
It was really great to have Peter Donegan in last night, and as usual had really insightful feedback for us that was delivered in Peter’s own brilliant style. Peter has already created his Weedle profile on weedle.com/peter.donegan where he’s showcasing his landscaping skills. His blog post about Weedle showcases his skills at blogging, video and photography. Nice one Peter.
Jason Roe came along too with plenty of questions about Weedle for us and I’ve got a list of things to follow-up on and make sure I know the answers to. Jason also has his Weedle profile up and running at weedle.com/jasonroe, so I’m looking forward to hearing more of his feedback.
Caelen King who runs revahealth.com wrote an insightful blog where he digs deeper on the Weedle business model. Some really great thoughts there that we’ll spend quite a bit of time considering over the coming months. Caelen’s profile on Weedle can be found at weedle.com/caelen.king
Bernie Goldbach wrote a post last night about how he was going to get inside Weedle at the Limerick Open Coffee this morning. I joined in via Joe Garde’s OnlineMeetingRooms.com. This was a really interesting interactive session. For most of the one and a half hour session I thought I was just chatting with Fiona, Susan, Sheila and Shane from Bernie’s Tipp Institute class, but realised towards the end that Gabriela Avram had a full lecture hall in UL listening in to our conversation. The students have undertaken a project to showcase their skills in multimedia on Weedle over the coming days. We’re really looking forward to seeing that.
There has been lots of feedback from last night on Twitter and I also received an insightful email from Peter Tanham of AMP.ie in the early hours of this morning.
Thanks everyone.
